Abbington Distinctive Banquets

Attending an event at The Abbington was a delightful experience, earning my praise with a solid 4-star rating. The venue's spacious layout was particularly noteworthy, providing ample room for guests to move around comfortably. The staff at The Abbington also contributed significantly to the event's success. The seemingly friendly and helpful team went out of their way to ensure attendees had a pleasant experience. Their professionalism and attentiveness were evident throughout the event, enhancing the overall enjoyment for everyone. As an attendee, the welcoming ambiance created by the venue and its staff left a positive impression. While there might be minor areas for improvement, the overall experience was commendable. The Abbington stands out as a venue with a spacious and inviting atmosphere, coupled with a seemingly friendly and helpful staff, making it a solid choice for various events.

I would like to highly recommend the Abbington Distinctive Banquets. We held both our ceremony and reception at this venue and was very pleased! We selected this venue based on its elegance (I absolutely loved the north ball room which features oversized windows allowing beautiful natural lighting, oversized chandeliers, and neutral color tones blending that blended well with our color palette. We also loved the fact that they have an option to host the ceremony in a separate room from the reception which was an absolute must for me, I am very particular and a little hard to deal with at times due to my over attention to detail and wanting every single detail preplanned and perfectly executed. Tara my venue coordinator was very accommodating to my "type A" personality :) She was very patient with me no matter how many times I contacted her, or regardless of how many times I stopped by the venue to run through things or do mock set ups, and was always just a email/ phone call away throughout the entire planning process. Leading up to the wedding one thing that I had not thought about prior to booking this venue is that we wanted a traditional soul food cuisine and the venue does not offer outside catering. Tara went above and beyond to meet my needs by helping us put together a custom menu using items from their various banquet menus. She also allowed us to request extra seasonings and provide details on how to turn their traditional menu Mac and cheese to "southern style baked Mac and cheese to give the food the southern flare we desired. The chef did an amazing job of executing it and the food was delicious and an absolute hit! My family (including the great aunties and grandparents) whom are tuff food critics were very pleased! We had absolutely NO complaints with anything related to the venue on our big day and would like to thank the staff at the Abbington Distinctive Banquets for being top tier! Everything was perfect!!!

I booked the Abbington for a corporate year end celebration, and from start to finish had a wonderful experience! I worked with Kathy and she was a pleasure to work with. I booked with a relatively short time frame, and Kathy assured me that they could do it, and I was not disappointed. She was so accommodating, and nice. She got back to me promptly, and made sure specific requests happened. The Abbington was beautiful and the food was excellent! The food portions were very generous. We had rave reviews from our guests. The restrooms were clean and spacious, they appeared to be cleaned after every event. The banquet staff were also great, they were friendly and also made my requests happen. We had an afternoon event and the price of the package was very reasonable and given everything it included, a great value. The only downside is that while they take credits cards for the deposit, they do not take credit cards for final payment. Thank you so much Abbington & Kathy for making me look good, and making sure my event ran smoothly! Would definitely recommend the Abbington for any event.

Came here to tour the place and overall super happy and impressed. It definitely was well cleaned and had a nice smell. The overall lobby was decorated pretty and the classical music in the background was nice. Cathy was super helpful and kind. Really nice place overall and the outside in spring it’s gorgeous with all the blossoms.

HIGHLY recommend having your wedding at Abbington Distinctive Banquets!! We worked with Tara throughout the whole process and she was really great to us, listened to what we wanted and helped us whenever we had questions. They made our ceremony and reception look magical and beautiful! One of the staff members Chase was really great too, brought us appetizers and drinks and helped us with other things throughout the night. Again, highly recommend the Abbington!

I was here this past weekend as a guest/family member of the main party. This place has pros and cons. The pros, it was a beautiful place and the servers were amazing. The cons, so many things don’t even know where to start. Main point of contact Kathy was great before the main event. The day off, she was terrible. Nasty attitude, and would question everything about things we had already talked and planned for the main day. She told us we can have the main event start at a certain time and that was definitely not what happened. We had our guest waiting in the lobby because the ball room was NOT ready when it was supposed to be ready. Little embarrassing but I guess for Abbington Distinctive Banquets it was no big deal at all. The open bar, was not really OPEN. They kept closing the bar for little things when they told us they will only close during DINNER time. Not worth the money. I will definitely NOT recommend this place at all. Think about this place not twice but THREE times. This place is beautiful but not worth your time nor your special day.
